Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor, American producer and actress. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis. Ellis is an American actress and producer, who has been actively involved in theater, film, and on television. Her career began as an actor in theater but then proceeded to make appearances in numerous TV shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with high praise but also received a host of awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. Her debut on stage as Ariel as Ariel, The Tempest. Stage credits include Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. Film-wise she is most famous for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help.
