In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track in just the space of six months. It was a blend of pop and reggaeton that not only drew attention to Latin music but as well reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs in Spanish mostly, and four tracks in 2016. The popularity of Despacito peaked in 2017. In 2020 the year 2020, 41 mainly Spanish songs are expected to make it into the top 100. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix to Despacito (2017) well-known musicians soon started collaborating with reggaeton musicians, such as Drake with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna and Maluma on Medellin (2019). In the year 2020, a few reggaeton artists were unhappy with the way the genre was heading toward popular. Rauw Alajandro is a member of a brand new generation of musicians who are determined to shift the course.
